Puran Poli Gujarati Recipe …

  1. 200gm Yellow Gram / Pigeon Pea
  2. 100gm Jaggery
  3. 150gm Wheat Flour
  4. ½ Spoon Cardamom  Powder
  5. 3-4 Saffron
  6. Ghee

  1. Boil Yellow Gram/Pigeon Pea in water for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Drain water using colander for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Now mix Jaggery and boiled Yellow Gram/Pigeon Pea till Jaggery melt into it.
  4. Add Cardmom Powder and Saffron.
  5. In a separate vessel heat this mixture until it becomes thick and soft.
  6. Continuously stir it to prevent over burning.
  7. Keep it aside.
  8. Now mix Wheat Flour, Ghee and Water and knead to create Roti Dough.
  9. Make equal sized balls to create a Roti of around 4 inch.
  10. Make Roti of around 4 inch size.
  11. Place prepared mixture in center of Roti.
  12. Cover mixture with Roti and seal it.
  13. Again carefully roll Roti of around 4 inch size.
  14. Roast on hot griddle till it turns golden brown on either side.

Apply Ghee all over it and SERVE.
