Where is Gujarat?

Where is Gujarat? And what is Gujarat? – If you have this question in your mind than we have very cool answer for that.

Gujarat is situated in western side of India; its land area is about 196,204 Square Km with having 1600 Km coastal line (Arabian Sea) which is longest amongst all the states in India. Population of Gujarat State is about 6 Crores as per 2011 census.  Gujarat is bordered by Rajasthan in North, Madhya Pradesh (MP) in East, Maharashtra in South, Arabian Sea in West and sharing international border with Pakistan (Sindh Province) in West-North. Gandhinagar is current capital of Gujarat, In 1970 Gandhinagar was commenced as capital. Before that Ahmedabad was the capital, which is still the largest city of Gujarat. Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot are other important cities.

Gujarat is home of people speaking Gujarati language. The state is largely dominated by Patel community. Vaniya (Baniya or Vanik), Brahmin are the other dominating communities in state.

This state has produced very influencing and vital people from different fields like politics, business etc. Some of them are listed below…

Mahatma Gandhi – Father of Nation (India) who dominates the Indian Independence Movement against the British Colonial Rule in India.
