Dal Dhokli Gujarati Recipe…

  1. 250gm Pigeon Pea
  2. 200gm Wheat Flour
  3. 2 Spoon Turmeric Powder
  4. 2 Spoon Red Chili Powder
  5. 1 Spoon Carom Seed
  6. 3-4 Cloves
  7. 2-3 Cinnamon
  8. 1 Spoon Black  Mustard Seeds
  9. 10-15 Curry Leaves
  10. 2 Green Chilies (Cut in pieces)
  11. Pinch of Asafetida
  12. ½ Spoon Tamarind Paste
  13. 25gm Cashew nut
  14. 50gm Groundnut
  15. ½ Spoon Garam Masala
  16. 1 Spoon Tomatoes Paste
  17. 3 Spoon Oil
  18. 1 Spoon Ghee
  19. Salt as per Taste

  1. Take Wheat Flour and knead with Water.
  2. Add 1 spoon each of Turmeric Powder, Red Chili Powder and Carom Seed. Also add Salt as per taste.
  3. Mix all of them well.
  4. Now knead again with 1 Spoon Oil
  5. Make Roti and cut into desired pieces to make Dhokli.
  6. Wash Pigeon Pea (Tuvar Dal) with clean water and cook in pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
  7. Cool it down for 15 minutes.
  8. Get Pigeon Pea (Tuvar Dal) out of pressure cooker.
  9. Heat 2 spoons Oil and 1 spoon Ghee in a metal bowl.
  10. Pour Cloves, Cinnamon and then add Black Mustard Seeds in heated Oil/Ghee.
  11. Add Curry Leaves, Green Chilies Pieces and a Pinch of Asafetida.
  12. Pour cooked Pigeon Pea (Tuvar Dal) into it.
  13. Add Tamarind Paste, Cashew Nuts, Groundnuts, Garam Masala, and 1 spoon Red Chili Powder, and Mix them.
  14. Add Tomato Paste, 1 spoon Turmeric Powder, Salt and 2 cups of Water.
  15. Let them boil properly.
  16. Pour pieces of Dhokli one by one in to boiling Dal.
  17. Boil for 10 minutes.
Serve HOT and add Ghee on it to make it TESTIER.......
